The Scorpionic Serpent Path of Healing

by david on May.31, 2010, under Astrology

I have been advised to make these posts shorter and simpler for people to read and understand. I will attempt to do so. The second level of the Scorpionic process is represented by the serpent. The symbol of Kundalini as it moves up the human spine; of the wisdom of the earthly life and the fall of the spirit of man into matter as told by the Judeo/Christian/Muslim traditions; the Greek symbol of healing in it’s double headed form. The images are numerous in the history of mankind and all refer ( in their own separate way ) to the fiery part of water. The pure energy and power contained within the human will. The serpent shedding it’s skin is symbolic of transformation. The river as it winds it’s way through the mountains and carves out massive channels is symbolized by the gigantic horned serpent of  many Native American traditions. Healers, shape rs of destiny, wise counselors, and powerful, spiritual motivators all fall into the Scorpionic Process. Out of the primal into formative mind of humanity snakes the serpent power of Scorpio the protector of the mammalian complex in the human brain. I have no idea how true this is but I was taught that what keeps the reptilian part of the human brain in check is a layer of cells ( one cell thick ) which snakes through the brain and from where comes dreams of lightning and thunderstorms. In Iroquoian tales it is the Thunder beings who keep the reptiles at bay and the eastern diamond-backed rattler is connected to the lightning force. More of this Scorpionic discussion to come………..

The Libran Balance Point And Grand Yen of the Zodiac

by david on Oct.27, 2009, under Astrology

The Autumnal Equinox begins the process of meeting the outer world for the developing ego and in the plant kingdom a point is reached where life begins to withdraw into the seed. The juxtaposition is significant for the surface life, mammals, reptiles, insects etc.. Some will begin to retreat some will develop adaptations to the coming cold and remain active. The world balances all on the weakening of the suns’ rays. This begins the receptive principle of Yin. Mars/Aries represents the Grand Yang principle whereas Venus/Libra represents the opposite. Reaction,response,balance,harmony,in-breath,are all Libran concepts. The function of the kidneys ( which the Chinese refer to as the Masters of Life ) and the inner ear as well as the balance point in the human body ( three fingers below the navel ) are indicated. We stand erect and therefore the sense of balance has permeated, even our psychology. The balance of mind, body and spirit represents the Ultimate form of balance within the human organism and takes Libra into three levels which are not represented overtly in the symbolism of the sign. The symbol of Libra is the scale and it’s static position communicates harmony. So balance and harmony go hand in hand. It has been rightly said that Librans are shit disturbers as well. I have personally seen Librans ( male as well as female) enter a room that is quiescent and purposely stir people up as well as entering a chaotic group and calm things down. This is a human response to imbalance which motivates even the most reticent Libran. In essence, matter is constantly seeking balance with spirit as change is one of the only constants of the Universal. Matter is constantly seeking the return to energy while energy is constantly changing into spirit and spirit is constantly reforming into matter, etc. In this universal process of becoming beauty is being released and attracting which is the underlying Venusian principle as ruler of Libra.  In Natal interpretation, Venus represents centripetal force inherent in the birth pattern while Mars can be said to represent the centrifical force. Simply put, we draw to us those experiences, people, resources, and ideas we need in order to fulfill our birth pattern through Venus. Libra shows us where balance and harmony are achieved, usually in relationship of all kinds as we are dealing with social relationships in the 7th house which is the Natural house of Libra and Venus.
