Leo: The Astrological Heart of the Zodiac
by david on May.09, 2009, under Astrology
The exoteric Leo is concerned with the heart and circulatory system and with the cerebral spinal system, both critical to the functioning of the organism. One concerns the supply of nutrients and oxygen to the brain and vital organs the other system concerns the electromagnetic flow of life force through out the system. In an esoteric sense Leo has the same function as it concentrates and radiates the spiritual essence of the being. Identity is more than superficialities in this world. Identity concerns how the one relates to the whole and vice versa. It is here that the importance of the inner life connects with the importance of the outer life. Anything that disrupts or seeks to modify that relationship is deleterious to the whole. While the whole is greater than the sum of its’ parts, each part is vital to the whole and is never lost to the process. Leo is truly the King in this sense. The concept of ego, id and superego is superficial in relationship to the importance of the function of the one to the whole. When we consider this we can truly understand how special we are in the sense of our Dharma/Karma as the Hindu’s would conceive. The complexity and the simplicity is one of the great paradoxes. The one and the many..the many and the one. The Cosmic Human and the human being are really one and the same but separated by function and identity. Leo is the crossroad between the outer and the inner life. In creative function life is a point and a circle in two dimensions which hints at a multitude of dimensional possibilities. In an electromagnetic way attraction and repulsion equally balanced holds us in point and through imagination we may expand and contract from the periferia to the point infinitely aways defined by our unique identity. This is the true heart of the concept of Leo.
